I was just curious...I'd like to buy my horse some new boots, but I was wondering what the different benefits are of leather-, sheepskin/fleece-, and neoprene-lined boots...Here's what I understand so far:
Leather: Easy to clean, more for hunter-type shows
Sheepskin/Fleece: Prevent chafing, provide cushioning
Neoprene: Absorbs concussion well, easy to clean
I'm sure there's more; any brands you recommend as well?
Open Front/Equitation Boots?
I %26lt;3 my Eskadron's for lessoning my horse @ the barn bc my horse nicks himself with his other shoes if I don't wear them. They have taken quite a beating and they still work great!!!
As for show Equitation Boots, I put my horse in the Bevel Leather Boots. I ride in Equitation and Hunter classes. They look really good on bay horses and hold up really well. You just need to make sure that they don't get dry bc they crack if you don't oil them
Reply:ask ur trainer
Reply:I've used Professional Choice SMB boots for 15 years, I won't use any other boot. They absorb the most concussion and you can throw them in the washing machine, can't ask for anything more! They do make an open front version for jumping but they are kind of hard to find.
