Help ... Little black dress and black knee boots?

Hello, I have purchased a black dress to wear for Valentine's dinner. It's got a halter-ish top and is very small at waist and then flares out. Very lady like and Audrey Hepburn-ish. Question. Would it be a major faux pas to wear very nice black knee boots? Or are heels a must? I ask because it's cold and rainy today. Is this committing a major faux pas? Also, if anyone can post links to dresses like this shown w/boots, please do so. Thanks!

No, no, no. I read every fashion column their is and I don't know who's running for president or whatever but hunni what I do know is that you have to get as far away from the LBD and boots combo as possible. The boots are cute but not with your LBD on the most romantic night of the year. And think about it, on your date you're not going to be outdoors for long anyway. You'll be inside having a warm valentine's dinner and you won't even notice the cold weather outside. So don't wear the boots, please.

Hope that helps!

P.S. Happy V-day!
