Ariat riding boots?

I am looking to either buy this ariat boots for myself:

http://www.statelinetack.com/itemdy00.as...

http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp...

But I have a concern. I recently bought a cheap pair of Paris boots over the internet, but the braid rubs the inside of my left siding of my pinky toe (so do some shoes because my pinky toe is a little off center). Then I was looking at Ariat boots because they are nice and they elminate foot fatuige. When I was reading, I came across this line "Now with a wider platform and technology that eliminates foot fatigue." That stopped me. Is the toe wider? Will my foot get easily caught in the stirrups? I am afraid if I fall, my horse will drag me if my foot gets caught. I had a pair before (not ariats) and they were perfect for my feet, but they got shredded and so I had to move on. (continued)

Now with a wider platform and technology that eliminates foot fatigue.

Ariat riding boots?
I just bought the second pair that you listed the other day (the Heritage II). They're super comfortable, nice looking boots. I've owned two other pairs of Ariat boots previously, and obviously by the fact that I'm a returning customer, I love them and wouldn't even consider another brand.

Seriously, if your foot gets caught in the stirrup because the boot is a little bit wider, it's not because of the boots, it's because your stirrups are too small; and if they're so small that a tiny bit wider boot makes a difference, you're already in danger no matter what boots you wear. We're probably talking a matter of centimeters here, if they were significantly wider they would look like clown shoes. Ariat is one of the top companies making riding boots, so safety is going to be a priority otherwise they wouldn't be as popular with top-level equestrians as they are. There's absolutely nothing unsafe about these boots. They're good, sturdy, comfortable boots and you won't be making a mistake if you buy them.

If there's any place in your area that sells these boots, I'd recommend going there and trying them on. I promise you'll love them, and you'll see that they're nowhere near wide enough to cause your foot to get caught in a properly fitting stirrup.
Reply:Ariats are awesome! I will never buy another brand of boots. I have wide feet as well (naturally and broken from horses crushing them) and Ariats fit excellent. The winter ones I have found to be the best. The shiny ones made for show (such as performace 2 that you are looking at) tend to pinch my toes more- they are made to be worn for show, not every day. I would suggest the heritage. They do not make my favorite ones anymore, but heritage comes close.
Reply:I don't personally have Ariats, but almost everyone else I know does. None of them have ever had a problem with their feet getting caught, and from what I can see their boots fit fine in the stirrups. Plus everyone goes on and on about how comfortable they are.
Reply:I have these Ariat's and I love them. I never feel like I will get my foot caught in my stirrup.
Reply:I think the first boot is better. I have had mine for 7 years and no problems yet. I would go to the actual store and try on these boots so you know for sure they fit and feel good.
Reply:I have several types of Ariat boots (sizes 8.5 to 9), but they're all a couple years old. I know, at least, one pair are 'wide'...my main ones. I never had any problems riding in them...arena, pasture, trail and fun show (including speed events) riding.
Reply:they are practically the same, but go with the 1 pair. don't know why. just seem better. i use ariats (western), and they are easy to slip in and out of the stirrup. my feet never got stuck, even when i tried to get them stuck to see if they would. fell off before while wearing them and slipped out perfect like the were greased specifically for falling out. now i am not saying that they have bad grip and badly stay in. they are perfect, but kinda make your feet sore if you walk in them for a long time ( bad experience at fair- was there from 6:30 am til 9 pm for 2 days. i rode in the morning, so noon until 8:30 i was walking around the whole fairgrounds looking at other exibits wearing them! comy for smaller periods of time!
Reply:I run barrels, and wear lace up, and pull-on style Ariats and love them. I know this is different then it is riding English, but there are the same dangers and concerns.

Of all the boots I've owned, these are the most durable, and I've never dealt with "hang up" problems with them.

Good shopping!
Reply:I just started riding, but my boots are Ariat and they're really comfy. Plus got my foot stepped on even though it wasn't stomped on I didn't feel athing.
Reply:i am a size 10 too, and i have ariats now. i actually ride in an 11 because my feet are wide too, but the boots i wanted didn't come in wide, so i got an 11. it doesn't bother me at all, but if it did, i would wear thick socks.
Reply:Speaking from personal experience (I got hung up on a racehorse, dragged and dislocated my left hip), Ariat's are perfectly fine and safe and I wear them myself. Provided you have the correct sized stirrups which I think is about 4 3/4 for an adult, you will have no problem at all getting your feet out in an emergency. They do help with foot fatigue and are not as narrow as some paddock boots but they are not nearly as wide as ropers. Got neat little spur rests too on the back. I don't wear lace ups purely because I hate laces especially when they are wet or snap so I always wear the zipper Ariats which are built on the same platform. Hope that helps put your mind at ease a bit because they are a great boot.
Reply:your boots shouldn't get caught if your stirrups are the right size for you foot/boot.

i have the ariat's with the zipper in the back that also lace up i love them but every once in awhile i'll get rubs on my heal from the spur rest...
Reply:Ariat makes the best riding boot available. If your foot gets caught in the stirrup, sorry, but look in the mirror, not at the Ariat. I am inclined to believe that advice would hold with any riding boot.
Reply:I swear by my Ariat Cobalt Devon Pro zip ups. I have been using this boot for like 10 years and just bought the new style that just came out (had to replace the old ones after a year and a half but i ride many horses every day). I am a size 10 as well and have never had a problem getting hung up in the irons. A word of caution about the heritage, I have never seen a pair past longer than a year with heavy use. My friend prefers those but it seems like she is always replacing them. It's worth the little bit of extra money for this high end of the ariat product range. Also, the devon's have a different insole than the two you picked out and is way more comfortable.
Reply:I can't help you with those specific boots but I can somewhat help. I was born with club feet so my feet are not completely straight. I wear Ariat Fat baby western boots and they are comfortable and I got thrown off my horse while wearing them and my foot never got caught in the stirrups.
Reply:I haven't been riding for long, but I like Ariats. Really comfortable. Haven't had any problems with getting the foot stuck, but I also don't ride that often.

Would getting your foot stuck also have to do with your form too?
Reply:If I were you I would get the Ariate Heritage paddok boots. I did some reasearch on Dover and they are the same price as the boots in your second link. I have them and I love them
Reply:i have the heritage lace up, they rub my heel if i walk in them.

but hey do not get caught in the stirrups and i ride english.

in fact even though they are wider they are still narrow if that makes sense.

they are also good because the soles are fairly smooth, but still have a little ridging.

Boots No7 Protect & Beauty?

I see that people in the UK are going nuts for this stuff which in the US is called No7 Restore %26amp; Renew Beauty Serum it is the EXACT same stuff as the No7 PROTECT AND PERFECT according to BOOTS website and it is selling out in the UK ......... it is available all over the US at TARGET STORES ONLINE and CVS STORES ONLINE for no more than 20 bucks american ......... PEOPLE On EBAY are selling it for CRAZY PRICES ........ I got 6 bottles at the local TARGET ....... for 17 bucks US each ........

Boots No7 Protect %26amp; Beauty?
Yes but if we buy online from the USA we then have to pay customs and excise duty when it arrives in the UK, plus excessive postage so there is no saving to be made.

Plus it is not out of stock - I bought some yesterday from boots.com .
Reply:It is £17.00 per bottle in UK, anyway just goes to show, the power of televison, very scarey.
Reply:The study which claimed this stuff to be a wonder cure, miracle thing, was part funded by Boots.... Hmmmm....
Reply:thanks for the info..i asked a similar question yesterday. if you have bought 6 bottles...have you noticed that it works?? - would be interested in knowing..i havent got any yet - as it seems to be like gold dust here at the moment!!
Reply:The UK version is, I understand, just over 5% larger, 1.056 oz versus 1oz.

People could bring this product back from the US, if flying into the UK - subject to handbaggage liquid limit restrictions - I think this is currently 3.5 fl.oz per container for Europe. However, customs tax won't be charged if within personal duty free allowance - '£145 worth of all other goods including gifts and souvenirs' copied from HM customs website.

Could still be an earner for people that way, if already travelling.

Good luck! Rob
Reply:Is this a question? xx
Reply:We get it....you work for Target or Boots...I'm sold, I'll buy 10 bottles please.

Reply:I personally like the first one (the taller boots) but that's my opinion, you pick whatever boot you want.
Reply:I would prefer something with a bit of a heel. but the first one is better than the tikki short boot. the swade black boot the first one you can wear it with jeans or tights and give it a casual look yes its fine.
Reply:Both of them are cute. A lot of people at my school were wearing them last year.
Reply:They are both too cute.

Fungal infevtions are annoying and painful in the toenails and can take months even years to clear.

Feet need to have fresh air.

Pity your boyfriend when you take your boots off!!!!!!
Reply:I wear most boots without socks (with the exception of my Timberlands, I wear no-show socks)

But I feel more comfortable wearing them barefoot. I wore kneehigh boots with socks last year to a party and after about two hours had to take the socks off beacuse it was uncomfortable just sitting there, I wore them sockless the rest of the night and was fine.

Make of men's boots in size 10?

The boot is like a wellie up to the ankle then material/leather just over the ankle and they lace up. They are like a work boot. I've looked in e-bay and done various search engines but can't find the boot. My other half is driving me mad as he is desperate for a pair of these boots and I'm trying my best. Can anyone help me please?

Are Combat Boots a fashion statement?

I enjoy the feel and suport of combat boots. Regular shoes make my feet blister, they are not as wide as boots. However, I feel that people seem to be taken back by boots.

Are Combat Boots a fashion statement?
Of course they are.
Reply:depends, I doublt it
Reply:They aren't a fashion statement unless you want them to be!
Reply:You should wear what makes you feel best and not think of how others feel. Combat boots are designed and tested to give maximum comfort and protection under harsh conditions. There are not many other pieces of footwear that is so well tested and tried.

Boots No.7?

hi...i was just going through boots website today and looking at boots own brand No.7 is it a really good brand?...how are the foundation in it? i was thinking to get my mom's friend who is in her 40's no7 quick cover blemish stick and no7 stay perfect foundation..is it good?...can you tell me your experience with this product....is it worth it...she has really nice skin....i want to give her something she should like it from london as she is in canada..one more thing does foundation really stay?Thank you

Boots No.7?
I didn't like them, I tried their foundations %26amp; didn't like them..

but they seem to be advertsing for their perfect %26amp; protect cream %26amp; it's supposed to be good but I haven't tried it.

Revlon Colourstay is much better %26amp; stays on..

Bourjois do nice foundations, I know it's not from London but they are of good quality.

Bobby brown foundations are good, esp. illouminous moisturizing foundation
Reply:I wouldnt buy it, even the liquid foundations from their range go on very uneven, no matter how much you try. If your friend has good skin then she probably doesnt need it, and a tinted moisteriser will work much better..failing that though the best foundations I think are either Loreal or Maybelline
Reply:hey i use boots no 7 i love the blush the best its great it is good foundation as it is easy to take off and doesnt stick to the skin so it doesnt block the pours i would use it they do alot of research and they know what to do to get the best looks i love that brand....x =)
Reply:I seen a new thing on tv its for 40 plust people that gives a glow 2 the skin thinks it called 40 plust
Reply:its the only make up i really wear its cheap and hypoallergenic
Reply:I really like the foundation - and go back to buy more. I've used several 'varieties' of No7 foundation over the last 15 or so years - Stay perfect is good - and lasts - light coverage - sees me through the day. Tried others, but always go back - especially when it's on offer!
Reply:hey

em no7 is good the tinted moisturiser is reil gd but its quiet light i would go for that and mabey some lippy and mascara wud be a nice pressie =]

Emz xxxx %26lt;3
Reply:sorry its not a good brand, good prices but not very good make- up.i got the stick for my birth mark because i needed something to cover it up but it didnt work but i have something that does and its cheap.that brand is mememe and its called cool %26amp; calm it works for blemishes, birth marks, spots and red-ish skin but you need to put a foundation over it,i use maxfactor seamless.it works really really well.

i hope it helped. =]
Reply:they make the 'protect and perfect' cream that was apparently on Horizon programme as actually working to reverse ageing signs- i'm giving it a go!

p.s. ask for a sample!

would boots ( half knee length) look good on:

a babydoll top(white) and black full length leggings

a sexy shirt, mini skirt

a casual dress

just wanna know

i wanna get a pair of boots but i wanna know if its worth the price i pay. thanxx

any more suggestions as to which outfits i can wear it with would be great :]

%26amp;%26amp; which color should i get--tan or brown?thanks!

Boots with...?
Dark brown or black for easy maintainence and they tend to stay in fashion while tan and other colors go out of fashion after a few years and then come back into fashion. Boots go best with skirts butyou can combine them with leggings and jeans by tucking it in or folding it into 3/4 rths
Reply:if they're black with stiletto heels, they'll look good on top of skinny jeans. dont to a mini skirt with them that's just trashy. casual dress that hits just below the knee, yes.
Reply:yes that would be cute! That even gave me an idea thanks! Well actually it depends where u r going. I would definit;ey get the brown! It would be soooooo cute!!!
Reply:Boots are definately in right now and they go with everything. So buy them and wear them before the fad is over. But Brown for sure. Tan won't go with as many things as brown. black is good too. Go to yahoo and type fashion boots and then go to ace wigs and they have 8 pages of boots and the fashions that they go with. but they also sell some nice boots at payless shoe source. the ace sight will show you some pictures though.
Reply:i think nyou should get black boots.....and they are deff. worth it... i wear (combat)boots with everything....of course you maybe talking of some other type of boots but i wear them with eveything so i think it is worthi it
Reply:ok dont get a pair of boots thats flat with no heels and heavy

i would go to bakers vto find a pair of boots only spend a bout 130 for someboot 160 for a really nice pair and get white so that you can where them a lot
Reply:a simple knee length dress and sexy thin high heel boots ..super sexy - with big wavy hair..volume=yummy lol

What kind of hoof boots have you found best for trail riding?

I have a pair of plain old easy boots. I went on a ride this summer where two other riders had epoch easy boots that they had cut the gators, (or whatever the top part of the epoch is) off. One horse did fine, and one lost bolth boots, I kept mine the whole ride as well, so I guess it is operator error that made the one pair fall off. I guess the new style boot is no better than my old one, but I wonder how Old Mack, and Boa compair for horse comfort, and staying on. I would love to have something easyer to put on, but do not want to give up the secure fit.

What kind of hoof boots have you found best for trail riding?
I am a Easyboot Epic user. The other boots just won't do for me and my horse because their fit and the amount of riding they are recommended for. no more than 25 miles a week... plus I needed a boot that can't come off while I'm riding. The epics, when the gaiters are not cut off!, will not come off your horse and are much easier to get on and off than the regular easy boots. I'm disabled and can't even bend my knees move well, and I can do it! The Easyboot website has videos of the duct tape trick, and even cutting the front of the boot down a bit. My amazing trick to get them on is hoof creme. LOL!

You can watch my very quick demos:

http://good-times.webshots.com/video/304...

http://good-times.webshots.com/video/309...

Now, four your other boot options... I tried the Cavallo (cheap plastic) Boa, and Old macs. Old Macs were by far the best of this type of boot. The Boa's, I couldn't get on, plus their tread was poor. That wire looked easy to snap and the dial slipped easily, and broke. (from other users) the OLD Macs had more tread and were easier to get on. Though all of these would rub in wet footing without pastern wraps, all were harder to clean up, and none coudl be used as much as the Easy boots.

IF you decide to try a set, I'd vote for the Old Macs!!

Here's a Hoof boot guide with all of them on it:

http://www.easycareinc.com/education/wha...

If you want to see cool tips for making the Easyboot Epics work fr you, watch my videos and those of the company.

http://www.easycareinc.com/Our_Boots/eas...

By the way, I have a awful time gettign the normal Easyboots on... hammers an screw drivers. The others are all easier than that. LOL

Good Luck!
Reply:I have used old mac... but not Boa... i would recommend old mac boots till i was blue in the face... i also have my horse bare foot... and i use the old macs when we have to do road work... they are expensive here... but well worth it... i've not had a problem with them slipping.. or coming off... but always when i first put them on my horse he doest his first few steps trying to get them off... but calms to them and doesnt get annoyed... the only down side i have come across is one we went thru a stream and they got wet and rubbed on the back of his heal... but since then i have got off and dryed his heels when ever he's got wet and not had a prob again... well thats what i have... good luck
Reply:I heard that old mac boots are the best. Or maybe you should try just letting your horse go barefoot.
Reply:I'm thinking about getting boa boots for my youngster instead of shoeing him, although it depends on how much road/rocky work he's going to do as he'll be mostly competing (where he won't have shoes at all... I think it gives them a better feel of the ground like hands without thick gloves!)

I've heard good things about these boots. Although they're very expensive compared to some others, hopefully the price reflects the quality.

I might keep my mare barefoot next year but wear these boots as she goes footsore when she looses a shoe at the moment (shod all her life before I had her). I'm going to use them like a transition from shoes to barefoot until she's used to having no shoes on. That's if I can find the money to buy them! Although, even if they last only 6 months I'd save money on shoeing bills!
Reply:I don't have an answer for you, but I am curious why you use boots? Do you use them instead of shoeing or in addition and why?
Reply:thank you for leaving your horse barefoot.

as far as boots go, i too have used the easy boot epics with the gaiters. if they are put on correctly, they should not come off. the clip that is on the boot itself should be difficult to fold down if it is the correct tightness. the gaiter strap should also be a snug fit.
Reply:i would reccomend getting your horses' feet used to different footing. Start with gravel etc and just get him/her walking on it for short periods of time. (greadually increasing the time being exposed to the different footing)

This will toughen up your horses feet, which has many many advantages!!!! Including not having to put on easy boots, showing and more!

Reply:I don't know about the other brands...I've tried the easy boots on a old gelding. They are such a pain to put on I used them about 3 times %26amp; tossed them in corner %26amp; that's where they stay. I shoe my own horses %26amp; it was easier to nail on a standard shoe than to put those things on. I understand the benefts , but the cost of them is reason enough not to use them.

Boots still in?

Is it still trendy to wear boots? Not uggs--tall black boots with a big heel.

Please don't say things like "trends don't matter; just be confident in yourself." I know that, but I need to make a style decision here.

Thanks!

It depends on the shape of the toe. Round or pointed are in. Also the heel. If the heel it skinny or wedge, it's definitely in style!

Do you think they are cute?

Do you think these boots are cute?
They're alright, but I definitely like the first ones more. You could wear them with so many outfits, and they would looks so cute tucked into jeans.

It's hard to choose.

I guess I would say the 2nd pair...touch decision though.

(((hugs)))
Reply:i think that the black are the cutest.
Reply:The pink ones are cute but do you really want a pair of pink boots? Do you wear a lot of pink ? I dont really like the little black ones.
Reply:Everyone at my school has the first pair, and the second pair is alright. But why should you care what I think?
Reply:ya i think they r cute but i like the first 1 better

My boyfriend thinks it's unusual for me to wear knee high boots without socks but it's most comfortable for me. Do any other ladies wear boots this way????!!!

Boots? Am I the only one?

My ex used to wear boots sockless all year round!
Reply:jus wanted 2 pnts..... haha hahah hahah

Never mind what he says.Is your choice and your comfort that matter.

At my age [60] I could not care less about what others think.

Boots with...?

would boots ( half knee length) look good on:

a babydoll top(white) and black full length leggings

a sexy shirt, mini skirt

a casual dress

just wanna know

i wanna get a pair of boots but i wanna know if its worth the price i pay. thanxx

any more suggestions as to which outfits i can wear it with would be great :]

Reply:that is not my style im emo/punk /sk8ior type of girl
Reply:matching turtle nexk like shirt and lil above the knee skirt or a lil above the knee dress with semi clingy sirt but yet free enough to move on the dance floor
Reply:soooo get them!!! you can wear them with a short dress. jeans. capris
Reply:They are really cute. The only thing I am wondering is if they will constantly feel like they are falling down. Since they come above the knee, are they going to stretch out and not fit right after a few wears? I just hate wearing something I am constantly adjusting. They are hot though!
Reply:hey--

they are cute, but yeah... if you don't normally wear something that over-the-top, maybe try to find a boot that is similar to those but a bit toned down. try to find a similar suede boot (suede is BIG right now!), but perhaps a knee-high boot, instead of an over-the-knee. also try a heel that is a bit more vintage-looking. instead of a spike. try looking at a grey pair too if you decide not to do brown.

i'd wear a pair of wool shorts with tights underneath and the boots. a short-sleeve oxford-style shirt (maybe with a bit of a gathered sleeve), and a longer coat that cinches at the waist.

good luck!

Are Ankle boots out of style?

Hey all I was wondering if the ankle boots, like the boots that are just above the ankle are out of style??? and if not what pants should I wear them with there black so black skinny jeans? or blue jeans? over the boot or tucked in?

Thanks All=)!

Are Ankle boots out of style?
They're still in style. You should wear blue jeans, probably skinny, and tucked into the boot. It's a great look.
Reply:Heck naw they aint outta style

I love ankle boots, And skinny jeans would go good.

Yet knee high boots would go better.
Reply:Black skinny jeans.

Reply:depends on the colour, but heck they're not out! i love them! i love the ones with the bow tie, they're so cute! and i don't know cuz of the colour. they'd be fine with jeans. over skinny, under others or whatever's comfy.

Dr Martens boots made in Thailand?

Today I saw a pair of Dr Martens boots for $190.00 Australian. I looked at the tongue of the boot and saw that they were made in Thailand. I thought Docs were British, and if they are made in Asia, why are they so expensive.

I've never owned a pair, but was thinking about buying some until I saw they werent made in England.

Does anybody have the Thailand made boots, are they as good as the British made ones.

Dr Martens boots made in Thailand?
Yeah you're right they used to be made in England up until a while ago. I haven't seen any Thai made ones personally, but I am gussing the company moved production there because it is ALOT cheaper, which to me screams QUALITY COMPROMISE!!

Just my opinion anyway, I would suggest getting some second hand ones that are made in Britain.
Reply:Dr Martens has an excellent brand reputation - and that's essentially what you are paying for. Just because production has been outsourced doesn't mean the quality will be any less. The company certainly isn't going to risk its reputation by producing less-than-perfect boots.

Thailand has some excellent manufacturing facilities and you can be certain that Dr Martens is going to be checking the quality of everything that bears its name.

I guess production in the UK got so expensive to the extent that the price would have had to increase substantially in order for the company to continue to sell boots at current prices. Would you be prepared to pay maybe double just because it's made in England?

Rest assured - Made in Thailand isn't a bad thing at all.

What paddock boots and half chaps should I buy?

I stopped riding regularly about two years ago, and I have outgrown my paddock boots. I am going to take lessons again and I need to find half chaps and paddock boots that are well made but affordable.

My budget is about $30-$40 for the half chaps and $50-60 for the boots.

I wear women's shoe size 7 1/2.

Go to Stateline tack first. Because petsmart is getting rid of them, all the items are on clearance. I went there yesterday and got a pair of ovation half chaps for $27.99

Reply:Go to a tack store. I love Ovation for paddock boots, but I have Ariat half chaps. The Ariat half chaps are out of yor range, but they make up for the price in the way they hold up.
Reply:Checkon Ebay. I am really fond of Ariat. They make the Ariat Tek/Endurance line that is fantastic. They wear well, are comfortable and light and easy to care for. You can buy them used, and save yourself a TON.

Glad your back in the saddle! RIDE ON!
Reply:I have a pair of Ariat zip-ups. I got them on sale, so they were only 34.99 but I don't think they're that cheap anywhere else!

Half-chaps, I have Dublin and they're great!

Go to statelinetack.com great stuff for better prices!

doversaddlery.com- more expensive, but great for english stuff!
Reply:Hi I would get Tuff Rider lace up boots. I have them and I have the same shoe size as you and they are very comfortable. I got them for 65 dollars. I have Grand Prix half chaps but they were expensive so I don't think those would be good but they are quite comfortable. Ovation haps are good but they usally have a really hard zipper. they are affordable and good looking. I really hope I helped!
Reply:They are about $90 new but you can find some great deals on ebay and these shows have literally lasted me for AGES- through mud and muck and tons of riding- Ariat Heritage II Paddock boots- any paddock boot by them are really niceee.

Now, I prefer zip but the lace seem to be a little less expensive sometimes. Ovation Sport Laced Paddock boots are really comfortable and nice too- I borrowed a friends one summer and loved em'. They are only about $64 new... so ebay can come in handy again.

http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp...

If you buy on ebay, I suggest you either go to a nearby tack store and try on some boots first so you know your 'boot size.' I've found that my boot size is actually one size BIGGER than my normal everyday shoe size. Paddock boots tend to run a bit small I think- but just find out whats right for you and then buying online will be so much easier and then you'll know what your getting fits!

As for the half chaps- here are some OK deals- I wouldn't say they are the BEST quality but then again, you only ride in them not get them muddy and wet like you would the boots...SO they dont have to be as good.

http://www.tack-wholesale.com/Catalog_Pa...

If you are into fun colors (which i totally am since you can't show in half chaps anyways) you can try these :]

http://www.everythinghorses.biz/eh/viewp...

They are for children so I don't know how old you are or what size but they are always cute!

Now if you are going to pick any half chaps that I suggest i'd DEFINATELY try these.

http://www.equestriancollections.com/ite...

I have the brown ones and I LOVE THEM. They are sooo nice and offer and amazing grip. They haven't once faltered me and they always stay zipped! (which i often find other half chaps coming undone.) They are extremely popular at most barns because of this and many other reasons- they also stretch to give or take some space since it's hard to fit calfs. They are only $34 new and I'm sure you can find them for cheaper someone else. But overall they were one of the best investments I've made. Check statelinetack.com for these or their catalogue- a lot of their stuff is on clearence and i got these for $12!!!

Boots?socks?

what is better between buying heated socks versus 1200 insulated boots? Is there anyone that has any of these socks out there that still performs in 10 degree weather? or should i just go with the boots?

Boots?socks?
I worked outside during the winters in Wisconsin for many seasons with temps down to single digits. I wore boots insulated with 1000 to 1500 grams and good high quality merino wool hiking socks. My feet were always warm, however, I was active.

If you are going to be sitting in a deer stand or doing something else where you are not moving, you may want to consider something closer to 2000 grams. This is too much insulation for being active though, your feet will sweat.

If you get something around 1200 grams and you get a real cold snap, or might be sitting sometimes, buy some boot insoles that react with the air and heat up. They are just like the handwarmers you can buy but are shaped into an insole. Available at Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc.

I've never used heated socks, but I think it would be annoying always needing backup batteries and constantly changing batteries or even just thinking about needing batteries. Don't know how well they would work with non-insulated boots either. I would suspect they would work best with a lightly insulated boot (400-800 grams).

Socks are more important than many realize, the BEST socks out there are Smartwool Mountaineering socks: http://www.rei.com/product/3851.htm
Reply:We have a shop in Tasmania Australia that sells high quality woolen socks made form possum and merino wool. Brand name is Mongrel socks have a look at our website http://www.mongrelsocks.com.au Our socks have traveled in most the cold places in the world and have been fantastic Report It

Reply:Absolutally go with the boots. I had some heated socks once and i took them skiing and then I took them hiking. They had big baterries that got in the way and they would only heat one side of my foot which was awful. They also heated my foot way to hot on that side almost burnt my foot. I have 800 gram insulated boots and they keep my feet nice and warm just sitting up in the treestand in 20 degree weather. I am not even moving and they are warm so im sure that 1200 gram insulated boots would be real nice in that sort of weather
Reply:Good insulated boots 1200gr minimum, used with good wool socks is the best that I have found.
Reply:Boots, I have 800 gram boots that I wear with just regular thermal socks and say out for hours and my feet never got cold.
Reply:10 degree weather...? Wool socks - Trust me.
Reply:Go with boots with at least 1,000 grams of Thinsulate insulation and wear a good pair of merino wool socks. If you'll be doing a lot of walking make sure you only wear one pair of socks. If you wear two pair to try to keep your feet warmer and do a lot of walking they'll end up giving you blisters.

A lot of online stores have the Itasca Swampwalker 1,000 gram boots on sale for around $50.00 right now. Try to find them locally so you can try a pair on to be sure what size you need, then order online to save some money. I found a place a mile from home that had them on sale for $48.00 and they've been EXCELLENT for cold weather hunting and sitting in a tree stand.

What Snowboard boot brand has well padded snowboard boots?

My boots are the right size in length, but they aren't tight enough. Smaller sizes of boots are not long enough.

What Snowboard boot brand has well padded snowboard boots?
I just got a pair of Nitro boots and they are awesome. Nicely padded. I also know DC makes some nice boots. I've had a pair in the past, and my niece just got a very nice pair.
Reply:it all depends on the brand i would recomend bringing those back and trying on different brands. you want to make sure they fit you foot nicely or else your binding response will be laid back

Airport security inspected my luggage and ruined my boots that were in my suitcase, what do I do?

I had a pair of black high heel wedge boots in my suitcase that I checked at the airport before my flight. When I got to my destination and opened the suitcase that I checked, I found an inspection notice and then I noticed both sides of both heels on my boots with big scratches. The black material of the heels are missing and even black polish would not repair these scratches because they are deep. I would be embarrassed to wear the boots in this current condition. They were in perfect condition when I packed them. I had these boots in shoe protector pockets of my suitcase and other then the boots I only had clothes in the suitcase, so there's no way these boots could have been damaged in this way unless some one intentionally did this. Just because they put an inspection notice in my suitcase does not give them the right to damage my property. If they were concerned about my boots couldn't they put them in an x-ray machine? What do I do about this?

Airport security inspected my luggage and ruined my boots that were in my suitcase, what do I do?
Call the airport customer service or security manager and file a complaint demanding they reimburse you. I don't know how far you'll get since you won't be able to prove they did the damage, but you can try, good luck.
Reply:yeah I'd sue them for sure
Reply:you could sue them
Reply:You only have a certain amount of time to turn it in to Baggage Claim at your airport. Go to the luggage area and bring the case and the shoes and show them to the airline (in the luggage area you'll see a sign for that airlines baggage department). But you may only have 24 hours. You'll need your claim check as well.

Flat plain boots?

I'm looking for a particular pair of boots.

They are black leather boots with no heal.

They have a rounded toe, not like pointy or anything.

They are totally plain- no zippers, no bucklers, no studs, etc.

The top of the shaft (where you put in your leg) is circular - not cowboy style, no folds, no creases.

Where can I find these boots online?

Here are a pair of boots that are a lot like your description.

Wearing Rigger Boots everyday? Chavy? Trendy? Untrendy? Gangsta?

I have got some rigger boots that are a tan/brown colour that were bought from milllets. They have steel toe caps.

I am wondering if I started wearing them to do everyday things like walking down the road, going to the shops everyday stuff like that would people think I am weird?

I am 16 and I am not in brick laying or anything like that. I would wear them with my Lecoqsportif wolves black trousers or my Nike black trousers. Whichever pair I worn both trousers would be tucked into the boots.

It would look really obvious with trousers tucked in though, they look weird if you don't.

I want to wear my rigger boots for everyday things because they are comfy and they look good and they are warm lined.

Would this be unfashionalable or weird?

Would people think I would be chavy (don't mind), trendy, untrendy?

Wearing Rigger Boots everyday? Chavy? Trendy? Untrendy? Gangsta?
i think they would definately look strange with your trousers tucked in them. can't see how it would be fashionable but maybe you'll start your own trend?!

give it a go and see how self conscious you feel - most people probably won't notice ♥
Reply:no offence, but they definately WILL look weird

What are the best boots that a blindside flanker could buy?

I have bought many boots but they all seem to fall apart after using them for only a few months. price isnt realy an object, I'm simply looking for a quality pair of rugby boots that will last and have little stud pressure. prefferably a 6 stud formation, if this is the best option.

What are the best boots that a blindside flanker could buy?
I play in the back row and wear Adidas Flanker III boots, they look good and are still in great condition 7 months on. I personally prefer the 8 studs, as they give better grip in the winter months, but it is purely a matter of preference.

Take your pick from these, I personally got mine from the Rugby Store at Twickenham Stadium.
Reply:Gonna have to agree with Peter
Reply:For me - I just use simple Kooga's that you can find anywhere.

As a backrow, theyre perfect, light but very strong. I've had mine for ages. Also, if it's only to last to the end of the season, you may aswell get a cheap pair.

In lessons I wear jeans and paddock boots with chaps. Thinking about getting breeches with tall boots?

Are tall boots only meant for show or can they be worn for lessons only? Can I also wear breeches with my chaps and paddocks boots?

In lessons I wear jeans and paddock boots with chaps. Thinking about getting breeches with tall boots?
i'm partial to boots and breeches, mainly because it looks cleaner and more professional. this is obviously what i would recommend. i also think it helps if you're planning on showing, since you get used to the feel. jeans, paddock boots, and chaps are often a lot easier to grip with, so it'll be a bit of a dramatic change when you go to boots and breeches, and dramatic changes are never best done at horse shows.
Reply:If you are going to show, you should definitely be practicing with breeches and tall boots. Breeches are going to be more slippery in the saddle than chaps (unless you get full seat breeches), so you need to get used to that. And you don't have to get leather tall boots, there are inexpensive rubber ones as well. I used the rubber ones for YEARS for both lessons and shows. In fact, I'm still using the rubber boots I got 15+ years ago. They are HOT in the summer, but being waterproof is handy in mud season and for wading in ponds....
Reply:you can wear tall boots for lessons and if they are new you are going to want to break them in. it feels different to ride in them than in pattock boots. you may also want to consider a pair of half chaps and breeches. if your planning on showing you may want to ride in cloths similar to your show cloths. a good pair of breeches and boots go a long way.

personally when i rode i always wore breeches and either tall boots or half chaps and paddock boots.

the tall boots give you a firmer leg aid, you have a larger firmer surface to use when giving leg aids.
Reply:It just depends. I was in a barn before where you HAD to where breeches and boots to lessons. To tell you the truth I sort of liked it because then my boots were well broken in and not uncomfortable to wear at shows.
Reply:tall boots are fine for a lesson but they might make the muscles around your muscles weak if you ride alot with them
Reply:Tall boots can be worn during lessons, but generally are saved for showing. You can wear breeches with half chaps and paddock boots, that is what I wear. Make sure to wear long socks though!

wow you have pretty big feet umm check your local ski shop and ask them because they might order some for you?
Reply:I've never looked for a boot that big but I'd recommend getting in touch with managers at board shops near you to see if they could get something like that on special order.

You could also contact online shops like the-house.com or zumiez.com and see if they might be able to hook that up.

Good luck!!

Anyone know about CV boots for a 99 Audi A4 1.8T?

My 1999 A4 needs CV boots but I've temporarily put off the repair because its too dang expensive and I want to sell my car this year and don't wanna dump anymore $$$ into it!

What exactly do CV boots do? What's typical cost for repair? Has anyone tried this repair by themselves by buying a kit online? Not that I would attempt it, but I have a good friend that's very good at working on cars.

Anyone know about CV boots for a 99 Audi A4 1.8T?
Think of it as a knuckle. It allows the axle to continue to spin and power the wheels while steering. The boot is just a dirt cover for the knuckle, if it tears and it is quickly replaced the joint should be ok, but if it is left unattended the joint will be destroyed by sand and dirt. Replacing either just the boot or the joint and boot is a big job. Simply putting the boot(or dust cover) on requires you to pull the axle. Take it to a shop.
Reply:replacing just the boot is a wast of money. If you do make sure you tell the buyer that you replaced the boot and not the joint and how long you drove the car with a torn boot. the joint now has contaminants in it and it will go bad just wait for the joint to go bad and replace the joint at the same time its not that much more expensive to do it right.

What Should I Wear Instead of Motorcycle or Cowboy Boots This Summer That is Still Cool and Unique?

So I'm a 19 year old male, turning 20 in August. My style is sort of a mix between 1950s greasers like James Dean and other more contemporary elements. Typically I'm in blue jeans and t-shirt, either under a button-up, a leather jacket or my lacrosse team windbreaker. I am always wearing either black leather motorcycle boots like these here http://theshoeplace.biz/1442.jpg

or tan leather cowboy boots like these...http://www.tikimama.com/images/tan_boots...

I keep this style all summer long. I do own some black loafers but they're a tad too dressy. So basically I'm in boots all year. They're my style and there's nobody else around who can pull them off. However I'm looking for new footwear for this summer that won't make my feet sweat so much, but I don't like the look or feel of sneakers. I want something I can run around in and play games like frisbee and football with my friends, but something that's still stylish and badass. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

the only thing that will make those ugly boots look better are jeans. that way you are saying that the boots are for warmth. if you try to do something with them it'll look like a fashion statment gone bad.

Schould i get ankle boots or boots to my knees??
I'm not a guy, but I think that boots to your knee are sexier. Plus, they are classy, and they will never go out of style.

Boots that are too tall or too short are uncomfortable, and flexibility on the top of the boot helps too!

Boots Semi Permanent Dye - Dark Brown?

I have light - medium brown hair and was going to try Boots own hair dye in Dark Brown, I've read the box and the colour looks like I want it but I was wondering if when you dye your hair will it ever go back to it's original colour after you have washed it for the estimated time it takes for the colour to be removed or will it alter my natural hair colour slightly after use? Has anyone else tried Boots dark brown hair dye? What's it like?

Thanks

Boots Semi Permanent Dye - Dark Brown?
it will return to it's original state EVENTUALLY but not if it contains hydrogen peroxide (which i am guessing it doesn't because it is a semi)
Reply:i have been a hair dresser for 15 years and and semi perm hair colors do wash out like in 30 shampoos. and let me tell you that the color on the box is not the color you will get only because the color pic that is on the box is taken from white dyes synthetic hair it makes for a good picture. not natural hair because it doesn't photograph well. and i have never heard of boot's hair color. and yes your hair will go back to it's origonal color but it takes a long time 30 shampoo's thats like 2 months since you should only wash your hair every other day. if it comes out to dark i suggest you wash your hair in ( dawn dish washing liquid) sounds crazy but it will lighten it .
Reply:If it's semi permanent it shouldn't alter the colour of your natural hair after you've washed it the recommended amount of times. Be careful tho as colours tend to come out darker than the shade on the box.

Buying cowgirl boots for work...?

I want to buy them online and I don't want to pay that much money for them... I was looking at a pair by oak tree farms... or by ariat... or laredo.. I tried a couple of pairs on at a boot store, but I don't want to pay in store prices. Also how long does it take to break in a pair of boots? I have about 10 days! Any boot buying tips?

Buying cowgirl boots for work...?
if you are looking for cheap and you do not say your line of work. Look for comfort and looks and spend good money on 3 pair so you can rotate them. Some boots look great and if you are on your feet trust me dont wear high heel ones all the time wear demi heel to save those tootsies. and your toes will love you too
Reply:If you need them for camp, you might want to consider some rubber cowboy rain boots. This site has a bunch of them. Some solid colors and some with patterns.

Buying cowgirl boots for work...?
10 days is plenty enough time to break in a pair of boots. Really it should only take a week to get them broke in though. You don't say what kind of work you will be doing or how many hours a day you will need to wear them. You want a pair that are comfortable yet durable enough to with stand the amount of wear and tear they will receive. You don't want a pair that is going to fall apart within the first month you wear them. I personally recommend Arait boots. I've been buying Ariat boots for the past 2 or 3 years now. They are comfortable, affordable, and they last at least a year with all the wear and tear I put them through at my job.

These ski boots have faux fur but are a little pricey, I was wonderin if any other boots had faux fur?
I know this has nothing to do with your question but I noticed that the boots you are interested in are 3 buckle boots. I've never had any luck with a three buckle boot....either they had pinch points which makes for cold and sore feet or they didn't grip my feet enough for good control
Reply:Boot with fur that I've seen only have it around the top. It only serves to let snow collect on the extra surface area of the fur, and isn't that great.
Reply:I assume you tried these at a store and know that they fit. You NEVER want to buy ski boots without trying them on.
